Frequently Asked Questions

Will the relining bond to the original pipe?
Yes. The liner adheres to the original pipe and the relining process seals the pipe from ingress/egress of water and roots and improves the structural quality of the pipe.

What type of pipes can be relined?
All types of pipe are suitable to be relined.

Is it possible to reline:
Bends? Yes
Junctions? Yes
Traps? Yes

What happens if roots have penetrated the pipe?
The pipe is cleaned and inspected with a high pressure water jet. Generally this removes the roots and we can assess the problem. The cleaned pipe can then be relined to eliminate the point where the roots gained access.

How long does relining take?
A repair of 1 – 5 metres in length will take approximately 4 hours.

Can a relined pipe be cleaned with high pressure water jet?
Yes. Should the pipe require cleaning in the future the lining can be cleaned with a high pressure water jet without problem.

How much pipe can be relined?
Lining can be as small as a ½ metre patch or the whole length of the pipe.

What size pipe can be relined?
Pipes from 40mm to over 1 metre in diameter can be relined.

How much access is needed for relining?
Generally double access points are preferred, but access can be gained from a removed point, WC, Inspection Openings, Stack Gates.

Is relining the best option?
Usually. When a pipe is relined there are no rehabilitation costs as there is no need to dig up the pipe requiring repair. The pipe is relined in situ, no digging, no replacement of concrete, slabs, pavers, grass, gardens etc. The pipe is repaired with little or no inconvenience.

Is relining expensive?
Compared to digging up the pipe, replacing the pipe and rehabilitating the surrounding area relining is both economical and environmentally friendly.

Is relining guaranteed?
Yes. Nuflow guarantees the products and process for 40 years and Sydney Wide Pipe Relining® guarantees the workmanship for 7 years.
